The Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program is a voluntary program and not intended to address the needs of families in crisis or those with very serious problems. It is offered for parents of children 0 - 5 years of age who possess two of the following characteristics: young, single parents, low income, lacking in formal education or parenting skills, isolated socially, geographically or linguistically. Learning occurs through group discussion and support rather than lecture format. The program is provided at no cost to parents, and facilitators arrange transportation and childcare, as well as a nutritious snack at each session. Each parent receives a set of Nobody's Perfect booklets when they begin the program. Topics for discussion at each session are selected by parents through a needs assessment process which takes place at the recruitment stage and continues throughout the sessions.
Three series (6 sessions each) of the NoBody's Perfect Parenting Program are offered each year for families in Campbell River along with one "outreach " series per year (Quadra, Cortes or Sayward).
